As the Curriculum Director at Syniti, I designed the Education Services learning approach. I built an eLearning program from scratch, expanding the offerings from three instructor-led training courses to a comprehensive portfolio. This includes five distinct learning paths, 40 individual courses, hands-on labs, tutorials, and microlearning modules. These resources support the business goals and deliver training on core Syniti technologies and customer solutions. I also defined a persona-based learning framework to cater to diverse learner needs, ranging from microlearning to full certification.
This is a diagram of the SKP Migrate Learning Path I designed for SKP Migrate product training.
These personas represent team members in a data migration or governance project.
Persona-Based Scenarios
I designed the learning path with increasing complexity starting from high-level introduction courses to technical application courses using the SKP Migrate tool.
I created a cast of characters to tell the story of a data journey in the Syniti product and methodology training courses.
Technical learners can experience all of the core features utilized during a data migration.
Essentials courses are for all stakeholders in a data project.
Foundations courses are for functional business users and data team members. For those want the high level information but not the hands-on, there is an option for a Business Users Tutorial.
Developer level courses go in-depth with a project migration using the SKP, and require more technical skills like SQL.
There are optional add-on Tutorials on specific functions of the platform, also sorted by persona. As the learner proceeds in the learning path, they take more advanced courses.
This diagram illustrates the high-level curriculum process I designed. It includes individuals involved in production, process management, content storage, delivery, and communications, all within a hybrid agile curriculum development and revision control framework.
Project Plan
I develop a course modularly, so each building block (topic) can be used as a microlearning, multiple modules can be arranged in smaller tutorials, or in more advanced courses.
SME validation, QA reviews, and customer feedback are critical tasks in each development cycle.
Tools Summary
Clickup.com PM, Articulate 360 and Storyline360, Mad Cap Flare CMS, Administrate LSM, AWS and CloudShare lab environment.
Sample Module
This video shows the components of a technical learning module: overview, objectives, learning content, exercises, and knowledge check
Each module is designed to meet all Web Accessibility & ADA Compliance guidelines.
Simulated Exercises with Storyline
This example simulation exercise enables learners to practice navigating and managing source database tables within the SKP application.
The learner can watch the video, review the written steps, try the simulation, and then go to the live lab environment and try the actions.
Certification
For this certification, the learner takes on the role of a Migrate/ADMM Developer in a migration project.
The learner is responsible for navigating the product and understanding how to perform data transformation mapping and reporting.
Upon completing the required learning path, learners must take a proctored 90-minute exam consisting of 60 questions to earn their certification.
I established the certification program and assessment strategy at Syniti, using Kryterion’s secure online testing tool, Webassessor. This certification program enables Syniti consultants, customers, and partners to earn credentials for top performance on client projects.
As a STEM education development and delivery consultant, I created the Learning Through Digital Storytelling program to provide STEM professional development training for educators. This elearning site serves as an introductory workshop for middle and high school teachers and was part of a week-long robotics professional development program.
